Located on the top of a hill on Lantau Island, the Po Lin Monastery is the site of the world's tallest outdoor bronze statue of Buddha. The statue stands more than 30 metres high (approx 100 ft) and weighs approximately 220 tons.
 
Besides attracting Buddhists from all over Asia, the Po Lin Monastery with its devout monks also offers tourists the opportunity to sample a simple vegetarian meal, prepared by the monks and served in the Temple refectory.
