The original Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre was opened in 1988, and just in time for the Handover ceremony in 1997 a striking new extension was opened. This bird-like structure with a massive aluminium roof and wraparound views from soaring glass walls extends into the Harbour. This is one of the largest and best-equipped meeting facilities in the world, and an outstanding venue for international trade fairs, regional conferences and many local events.
