In some cases, Landlords are happy for Tenants to use their existing utility connections and just pick up the monthly charges for gas, electricity and water. However, in most cases, the Tenant will apply for new utility connections for their property. At Home will arrange all utilities to be connected for the new Tenant. This will also include the setting up of telephone and/or fax lines, connection to the internet/broadband and cable television, if so desired. All we require from the Tenant is a copy of his/her Hong Kong Identity Card (or passport) or if the utilities are to be in a Company name, a copy of the Company Business Registration Certificate.

All the utility companies will require a security deposit which is generally applied as a charge against the consumer's first bill.  These deposits are refundable after the service has been disconnected, provided all outstanding amounts have been cleared.
